- Do not leave the door open or open it frequently
- Never stack items in front of or below the motor
Troubleshooting guide
If the room temperature is high:
- Make sure the motor has space inside the room for unobstructed airflow in front and underneath. If the room is overloaded, and air can’t circulate, it won’t cool properly
- Ice build-up, underneath or in front of the motor will reduce the airflow. If possible remove the ice
- If it’s very hot weather, the unit should be relocated to the shade
- If there is frost on the motor run a manual defrost cycle, and repeat as necessary. Note that the defrost cycle will increase the room temperature by 10oC temporarily
- Check that the door seals properly and that the rubber is not damaged
- Check that the grill (condenser coil) on the outside of the motor is clear of dust and unobstructed. If it has a dust build-up, a low pressure run a gentle water hose over it to clear it, never use a pressure washer
- Make sure the power supply isn’t overloaded, i.e. there are not too many plugs running off the same circuit. Long extension cables or other heavy loads on the same circuit will cause a problem
- A high temp reading could be because of a faulty thermostat, double-check the temperature using a thermometer
